A master ring gauge (also known as a set ring gauge) is used to calibrate dimensional tools or other measuring instruments. This gauge can zero point alignment before measuring with the inner diameter gauge thus providing a measurement standard or point of reference standard for tool calibration purposes.
Application suited to calibration of inside micrometers, three point internal micrometers and bore gauges.
